THE MORRIGAN - Celtic Goddess of War, Battle, Death, and Witchcraft

Introducing our beautiful ritual candle, scented with a musky and spicy blend of cinnamon, clove buds, and smoky patchouli. Each candle is hand-poured using our custom soy and coconut wax blend, then left to cure for a short time before shipping to you. We embellish our Morrigan candles and wax melts with small tumbled obsidian crystals and homegrown and dried red rose petals, creating a unique and personalized experience for each customer.

Our Morrigan candle comes in a wide flat round, black-colored tin, complete with a lid. Each candle is handmade intuitively for the customer, making it a one-of-a-kind work of art.

The Morrigan, also known as Morrígu, is an Irish Goddess associated with battle, destiny, fate, and change. She is an essential part of ancient Irish lore, having a significant role in bringing about major changes, predicting defeat, death, or victory in battles and wars.

Morrigan's name means 'Great Queen' or 'Phantom Queen,' and she has a deep connection to the Irish Otherworld, especially through her sacred site at Cruachán in modern-day County Roscommon. As a shapeshifter, she often appears as a crow and is known as Badbh or Nemhain, inciting warriors to fight and bringing victory to their cause.

Morrigan is a multifaceted Goddess, representing sovereignty, wisdom, prophecy, magick, and the land, among other aspects. She is often given as a triad of connected deities called the three Morrígna, which varies from manuscript to manuscript.

Understanding the Celtic culture of that era is crucial to gaining a more insightful understanding of Morrigan. Women were warriors, often fighting in battle or helping the wounded, and protecting their families and land was a dominant aspect of their pride, reflected in Morrigan. Embrace the power and energy of Morrigan with our ritual candle, invoking her strength and guidance in your life.
