These 16 oz. candles are made especially as offerings to Sekmet, the lioness goddess of Egypt. The fragrance is the essence of Egyptian musk - dark delicious amber and the mysterious scent of oud are the highlights of this fragrance dedicated to Sekhmet. Topped with genuine brown tiger's eye chips and juniper berries embedded lightly on top of the wax, both sacred to Sekhmet and perfect for an offering or ritual candle.

Comes in a black-colored wide & flat 16 oz candle tin (2-wick) style with a lid featuring a Sekhmet design.

Sekhmet is one of the oldest Egyptian deities. She was originally the warrior goddess associated with Upper Egypt prior to 2930 BCE. Her Lower Egyptian equivalent prior to this was Bastet. She had a variety of names, including the "Lady of Terror" and the "Lady of Pestilence," both of which she received from The Book of the Dead.

Sekhmet was also referred to as "She Who is Powerful"‚ which was a name the ancient Egyptians gave to any female deity whom they considered to be dangerous. She was depicted with the head of a lioness wearing a sun disk and a uraeus (a representation of a sacred serpent as an emblem of supreme power, worn on the headdresses of ancient Egyptian deities and sovereigns), as well as having the body of a woman.

Candle Instructions: Always keep wick trimmed back to under 1/4" (6.35mm) at all times, before and during burning. Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when the overall wax level falls to 1/4" (6mm) or less in the bottom of the container. Caution - the container can get scalding. Please burn on heatproof safe surfaces away from children and pets. Do not allow melted wax to contact skin as burns may occur.

Handmade with love, magick, and positive energy, our soy blend container candles have an incredible scent throw for a truly long-lasting scent! Each candle is artfully created using eco-friendly waxes and fragrance oils and is then adorned with shimmery mica, herb or flower botanicals, and genuine crystal chips for a visual feast sacred to each deity or sabbat.

Made to order – allow a 2-3 day processing time to make the candles, which we then cure for 24 hours.

Shipping:
DURING WARMER MONTHS, slight melting may occur during shipping. If this occurs, put the candle into your refrigerator for a few minutes before opening and using it.
