These 8 oz candles are made especially as offerings to Isis, the mother goddess of Egypt. Scented with soft cashmere vanilla which has a gentle and light exotic musk with a vanilla background, as pleasing to your senses as it is to the Goddess Isis. Topped with lapis lazuli chips and blue lotus leaf - both sacred to the goddess Isis - embedded lightly on top of the wax for the perfect ritual candle.

Hand-poured into a stylish black 8 oz candle tin with a matching lid. Each candle is a lovingly-created work of art, uniquely made individually for every order.

She is known today by her Greek name Isis; however, the ancient Egyptians called her Aset. Her name translates to “Queen of the Throne” which is reflected in her headdress, which is typically a throne. Images of Isis nursing the baby Horus may have influenced the early Christian artists who depicted the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus.

Isis was first mentioned in the Old Kingdom (c. 2686–2181 BCE) as one of the main characters of the Osiris myth, in which she resurrects her slain brother and husband, the divine king Osiris, and produces and protects his heir, Horus. She was believed to help the dead enter the afterlife as she had helped Osiris, and she was considered the divine mother of the pharaoh, who was likened to Horus. Her maternal aid was invoked in healing spells to benefit ordinary people.

Candle Instructions: Always keep wick trimmed back to under 1/4" (6.35mm) at all times, before and during burning. Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when the overall wax level falls to 1/4" (6mm) or less in the bottom of the container. Caution - the container can get scalding. Please burn on heatproof safe surfaces away from children and pets. Do not allow melted wax to contact skin as burns may occur.

Shipping:
DURING WARMER MONTHS, slight melting may occur during shipping. If this occurs, put the candle into your refrigerator for a few minutes before opening and using it.
