These candles are made especially as offerings to Thoth. This fragrance is deeply musky and heady, with deep warm amber and a bright strong patchouli note. Topped with lapis lazuli and white lotus sacred to Thoth in order to make a perfect offering or ritual candle.

Thoth is often depicted as having the head of an Ibis, a bird native to Egypt. He is also sometimes depicted as a baboon with a moon disc above his head. One of the most important Gods of the Egyptian Pantheon, Thoth was said to be born from the seed of Horus from the forehead of Set. In this myth, it is said that Horus and Set were deep in battle with one another. During this battle, seed from Horus was sprayed out and accidentally consumed by Set. From the forehead of Set sprung the God Thoth. Thoth presided over the rest of their battle, acting as a middleman. He would heal each as needed to make sure that the fight between the two was fair. Thoth is a God of balance, having been born from two Gods that represent order and chaos. This is enforced by his wife Ma’at, who was the Goddess of divine balance. He resides in the Hall of Truth with the God Osiris and passes judgment on the souls of the dead before they can pass into the afterlife.

Thoth is also a God associated with the Moon. As a God of Writing, Thoth also plays an important role. There are a few variations on the myth, but Thoth is always seen as creating the written word. His daughter, Seshat Goddess of Scribes, was said to have given the knowledge of the written word to the humans. Thoth was a record keeper for the rest of the Gods and is seen in Egyptian imagery with a scroll and feather. Scribes honored this deity and would sacrifice a small portion of ink to him before writing anything. It was believed that after death, scribes would reside in the Goddess Seshat’s library for eternity, where they would be honored by Thoth and his daughter.

Candle Instructions: Always keep wick trimmed back to under 1/4" (6.35mm) at all times, before and during burning. Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when the overall wax level falls to 1/4" (6mm) or less in the bottom of the container. Caution - the container can get scalding. Please burn on heatproof safe surfaces away from children and pets. Do not allow melted wax to contact skin as burns may occur.

Warnings: Never leave melting wax unattended - the wax, when melted, is scalding hot and is flammable. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never add water or any foreign substance to your wax. Do not eat or ingest wax. Avoid skin contact with melted wax.
