Tammuz, Sumerian Dumuzi, in Mesopotamian religion, god of fertility embodying the powers for a new life in nature in the spring. The name Tammuz seems to have been derived from the Akkadian form Tammuzi, based on early Sumerian Damu-zid, The Flawless Young, which in later standard Sumerian became Dumu-zid, or Dumuzi.
Inanna-Ishtar took Tammuz, the divine shepherd, as her lover. He quickly became her favorite, and she honored him above all others. Their love affair is the subject of sacred hymns. Following her resurrection, Inanna-Ishtar was permitted to leave captivity in the Realm of Death if she sent someone back to replace her. Returning to her palace, she anticipated her reunion with Tammuz, whom she assumed would be weeping and mourning for her. Instead, she discovered him seated on her throne, enjoying the luxuries of her palace.
Tammuz fled but Inanna-Ishtar pursued. He did not wish to die. His devoted sister Gestinanna fought on his behalf, eventually negotiating a deal in which she serves half his time annually while Tammuz is permitted to return to life. Tammuz is considered the prototype of the dying and resurrecting grain deity.
He is compared to Persephone, a force of nature that refuses to stay dead, although disappears into the depths of Earth annually. After his descent into darkness, Inanna-Ishtar wept bitterly for his loss, beginning the annual sacred ritual of weeping for Tammuz. This ritual was still honored centuries later and had been incorporated into folk Judaism as the Bible complains. Ezekiel 8:14 recounts the prophet's vision of Jewish women mourning for Tammuz at the gate of King Solomon's Temple: "He brought me to the entrance of the Gate of the House of the Lord ... and behold! There sat women weeping for Tammuz". Tammuz, sometimes a chthonic spirit, is among those deities invoked in the magic spells of the Magical Papyri of Alexandria.

Each package contains six 1" cube melts and weighs approximately 2.7 fluid ounces of highly scented wax.
Wax Melt Instructions: Depending on the size of your wax warmer, use either one to three cubes of wax. You want the melted wax to fill the wax melter dish about 3/4 of the way full so that you can enjoy the fragrance for 6 to 8 hours. You can use these wax melts for a few hours at a time until the aroma has burned away.
Candle Instructions: Always keep wick trimmed back to under 1/4" (6.35mm) at all times, before and during burning. Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when the overall wax level falls to 1/4" (6mm) or less in the bottom of the container. Caution - the container can get scalding. Please burn on heatproof safe surfaces away from children and pets. Do not allow melted wax to contact skin as burns may occur.
Warnings: Never leave melting wax unattended - the wax, when melted, is scalding hot and is flammable. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never add water or any foreign substance to your warmer bowl. Do not eat or ingest wax. Avoid skin contact with melted wax. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific wax warmer.
Disclaimer: The temperature of your melter and how many squares you use at one time determines how long your scent will last and how strong it will be. Additionally, some fragrances are meant to be more subtle and softer than others designed to be stronger. One cube with throw a good scent for up to 12-15 hours. Each warmer keeps wax at different temperatures depending on the strength of the heat source (light bulb, tealight, etc.) combined with the size and design of the warmer and the wax dish it uses, so different wax melters may make wax melts stronger or lighter.

DURING WARMER MONTHS, we can't guarantee that USPS will deliver your melts before they melt slightly.
